Different types of installations may require slightly different quantities of materials, however an approximate value is provided below.
As an approximate guide:
1 tonne of type 1 hardcore filling a depth of 50mm with cover 15 square metres.
1 tonne of Astro Silica Sand filling a depth of 25mm will cover 30 square metres.
5kg All Weather Glue will install 12 linear metres of artificial grass.
1x Astro Glue Cartridge will install 3 linear metres of artificial grass with or without jointing tape.
Material Quality
Our materials are all produced to the utmost quality. From our grasses which create a perfect garden surface, to the additional components such as silica sand and astro weed barriers that complete the installation and ensure that it will be both practical and great to look at, we ensure that we only use exceptional products.
We have a range of grass options from Astro Pluto which is one of the highest quality artificial grass products in the market, to Astro Neptune which although it is cheaper does not mean it is lower in quality, and our individual (?) Astro Venus which comes in a range of colours.
The additional materials we use for fitting our artificial grass are also of outstanding quality. Our weed barrier has been carefully developed as a geo-textile membrane to prevent weed growth. The silica sand we use has been specially developed to ensure that the grass surface stays in place. It is kiln dried and will keep the grass fitted even during adverse weather conditions. This is also what we have developed our jointing tape to withstand, which is made from special porous fibres.
Hard Surface System
This system is suitable for surfaces like concrete, decking, balconies and anywhere where you already have a smooth surface to install on. The shockpad is optional depending on the type of results you are looking for.

Tape Measure, Stanley Knife, Metal Hammer, Adhesive, Adhesive Spreader, Joining Tape, Spade, Wheelbarrow, Heavy Duty Brush, Edging Strips (if required).
Soil Surface System
This system is suitable for soft / soil surfaces like back gardens and front gardens. The surface is recommended to be levelled thoroughly before applying the system, and should be levelled at every stage any sand is applied. The shockpad is optional however recommended to get the best results from the system.
